Domestic Violence Awareness
Learn about domestic violence and the impact that it has on our local community. Additionally, learn about the impact of your donations and how they support local women's shelters in the Houston area.
Globally, about 1 in 3 (30%) of women have been subjected to either physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence or non-partner sexual violence in their lifetime (World Health Organization).
In the US, 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men experience severe intimate partner physical violence, sexual violence, or stalking (National Coalition Against Domestic Violence).
Children who witness domestic violence are at a higher risk of having behavioral and emotional struggles. Globally, up to 275 million children are estimated to be exposed to domestic violence (UNICEF).

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
General Donations: Leaving an abusive situation often means starting over with little to no personal belongings. Donations can provide essentials like clothing, food, toiletries, and other basic needs, helping victims rebuild their lives and gain stability.
Underwear, Bras & Socks: Undergarments are an infrequently donated, but in-demand item. Used donations can not be accepted, therefore unused, packaged undergarments are an extremely helpful donation.
